National LGBT Anti‐Bullying Project Coordinator

This home‐based post will continue overall project management and partner coordination for our National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans Anti‐Bullying Consortium, funded by the Government Equalities Office, as it enters into its delivery phase. 

This unique project adopts a national coordination with local delivery approach to tackle and prevent homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying through training of school staff.

Whilst this role is home‐based there will be travel across England involved.

About the Project

LGBT Consortium is delighted to be coordinating one of the 6 successful projects for the Government Equalities Office Anti-Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic Bullying Programme, which will run until March 2018.

Our project draws together 12 of our Member organisations to deliver an innovative project across diverse geographical and thematic areas, with work concentrating on the following areas:

  • Providing a range of training, skills and knowledge development to 270 schools across England to improve how schools tackle HBT bullying issues
  • Implementation of an innovative LGBT Bullying Support Line for schools staff needing information and guidance on specific LGBT bullying issues
  • Developing partnerships between schools, LGBT organisations and other appropriate LGBT support services to provide better outcomes for young LGBT people
  • Linking in with other GEO and DFE funded projects to ensure greatest impact and to reduce duplication

LGBT Consortium provides all project management and coordination, grant accountability and partnership development responsibilities throughout the project.
