The LGBT Consortium is striving to make its website accessible to the broadest possible range of people, taking into account physical ability, browser functionality, the use of handheld devices and varying connections speeds. Unfortunatly we are not quite there yet but rest assured we are working hard to address accessibility issues as fast as we can, we hope that you are able to bare with us during this time.

Access keys

Our main navigation options have been assigned keyboard access keys to help users who do not use a mouse move more easily around the site. Using the relevant access key as described below takes you directly to the main sections of the site.

To use an access key:

PC users: hold down the Alt key and then select the access key listed below.
Mac users: hold down the Ctrl key and then select the access key listed below.
For both platforms, users of Internet Explorer will then need to press the Enter button.

Descriptive hyperlinks
All hyperlinks are compatible with commonly-used screen-readers and audio software.
 
Image alt tags
Hover over an image and you will see a brief description of that image. This supports software for users who find it easier to listen to, rather than read, the content of the website.

PDFs

A large number of documents are available for download from this website. Wherever possible, these documents are made available in two file formats - Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) and Microsoft Word (doc).

To view PDF files you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed on your computer. This software is available free of charge from the Adobe website.

The access.adobe.com website provides tools and information to help make Adobe PDF files accessible to users with visual disabilities.
