Freestyle London

The Freestyle London Project exists to get young LGBT people throughout London a better deal from youth services.  In the past, and still to an extent now, LGBT youth workers have often been invisible, poorly funded and misunderstood by mainstream organisations and young people alike.  Freestyle works across London with key agencies so make sure that the needs and experiences of young LGBT people can be effectively addressed.  Our aim is to increase the skills and knowledge of both LGBT youth workers and generic youth workers who are involved in working with LGBT young people in London.

“London's diversity is one of our greatest strengths and I fully support Freestyle's work to empower and support young lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender Londoners. We must work together to make sure that we are a truly inclusive and equal city. London paid a high price for the bigotry and prejudice of Section 28 but we are now beginning to see real improvements for young LGBT people. I hope everyone will support this excellent project.”

Nicky Gavron (Deputy Mayor of London)
