On the 28th March 2008, the Consortium of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Voluntary and Community Organisations will be holding their Annual Conference and AGM.
The programme has been designed around the information and support needs identified by the membership; and will be addressed by a range of speakers and workshops from key bodies and national organisations keen to support LGBT issues.
Ensure this date is kept free in your diary. We will be sending a range of information through to all members over the coming weeks, including all the formal documentation for the AGM.

The speakers and workshops will include the following areas:
• The importance of the third sector in addressing the needs of LGBT Communities (Office of the Third Sector)
• How is the Equalities & Human Rights Commission going to address LGBT equality? (EHRC)
• Funding for LGBT Organisations and Groups (National Funders)
• Getting Onto the Local Agenda through local planning structures (NAVCA)
• Engaging with the European Agenda on LGBT Equality (Third Sector European Network; ILGA)
• What will the Equality and Diversity National Support Service do for the LGBT sector (Womens Resource Centre)
• How to use the Human Rights Act to support LGBT member development (British Institute of Human Rights)
• Being a more active activist - effective campaigning for the LGBT sector (NCVO)
• Demonstrating quality and performance to your stakeholders (Charities Evaluation Service)
• Making the most of ICT (ICT Hub/Consortium)
• Volunteer support and engagement for LGBT members - tools for success
• Youth Engagement within LGBT communities
• A Strategy for moving forwards

The Consortium will be holding its Constitutional Annual General Meeting during the event. This will be scheduled between 13.00-13.30 on the Friday 28th March 2008. This is a formal notification to our members of the AGM. All members have the right to attend, or submit a voting Proxy form for any resolutions. All paperwork relating to the AGM will be sent through to all members on Monday 3rd March 2008.

The event will not only enable members to raise concerns and learn new skills, but it will also provide an opportunity for networking together and sharing ideas.
