ITV News Group internships
Ever thought about a career in the media industry or wondered how stories are selected and put together for the news but didn’t know how to find out?
The ITV News Group (ING) internship offers nine individuals a six-week paid placement in one of ITV’s regional newsrooms (Gateshead, Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff, Birmingham, Norwich, Bristol, Southampton or London).
The scheme will give you the opportunity to experience working life within a busy newsroom. You will be able to get a flavour of a number of roles within the department to suit your interests – technical, support or editorial.
ITV say: "we’ve created these opportunities to encourage applications from individuals who feel their voice isn’t often heard or who have something unique to offer; and hopefully help people decide whether a career in the media is for them."
No formal qualifications are needed, just the ability to thrive in a challenging news environment due to your enthusiasm and interest in regional news. And ideally you'll have a ‘sponsor’ who can recommend you for the scheme. You need to be over 18 to apply.
Placements will take place at a time between July and September to suit the successful individuals and the specific newsrooms.
Fill in an application form telling ING what you hope to gain from the placement.
ITV will also be asking some of the successful interns to attend a diversity panel at the end of their placement to talk about their experience, and maybe join the panel.
Applications need to be returned by Tuesday 15 June and should be sent to:
