Oxford Friend LGBTQ+ Helpline

Oxford Friend is one of many voluntary organisations throughout the UK that provide free and completely confidential information, support and counselling services for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered communities and for their families and friends.

Oxford Friend has been a registered charity in the UK since 1987 (no. 299903). Oxford Friend's telephone helpline has been running continuously since 1980, and since 2005 this has been supplemented by a website, an email counselling service and contact with service users via Facebook, twitter and other social media.

In June 2006 Oxford Friend was the first LGBT group in the country to have its service recognised and supported by being given the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
