Pride - St. George's LGBT+ Society

Pride is St George’s LGBT+ society.

We are activists, socialites, and provide a network of peer support for queer, questioning and allied students. We cultivate a judgement-free, welcoming environment for students and staff alike, and meet at least once a month.

Whether you need a space to freely be yourself, want to make a stand against LGBT+ discrimination, or simply want to socialise and share experiences with like-minded students, Pride welcomes you. George’s has had student LGBT+ representation for more than 30 years, and the society is now more prominent than ever before.

We host meetings on the first Tuesday of every month (our ‘FTMs’); this could be going to see LGBT+ theatre, talks and exhibitions, social events or demonstrations and campaigns which affect both our student and staff members, and the wider LGBT+ community. We’ve worked with the intersectional feminism society and the hospital LGBT+ staff network to hold talks and seminars, created a timeline of queer history during Pride month, run sexual health stalls and participated in LGBT+ history and activism events.

Every year, we march in the London Pride Parade, providing active representation of our university and collaborating with the LGBT+ rights movement.
