What the committee does can be divided into 3 categories: welfare - looking after the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual and trans students who come to us. socials - organising events for lgbt students to attend and meet new people. campaigns - raising awareness of the issues that lgbt people face all over the world. there is also an lgbt lounge within the union, which provides a safe space for people to congregate, as well as to get in touch with committee members, use the lgbt library and magazines and consult flyers on a range of issues, or just to come have lunch.
