Older lesbians, gay men and bisexuals face many issues in respect of ageing in common with older heterosexuals. However they are also likely to face other issues and injustices because of: isolation and institutionalisationa given the greater likelihood of their being singles without children and living alone; invisibility and the assumption that all older people are heterosexual (if they are believed to have a sexuality at all); and the double discrimination of ageism and homophobia.

Antidote offers information and support exclusively to lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered (LGBT) people around drugs and alcohol. Whether you want to cut down or stop using or drinking, or want information about keeping safe Antidote can help. We offer: Weekly drop-in every Thursday evening 6.30 - 8.30. A space to talk to workers or other service users, or just pick up information and chill out. Complementary therapies. Drop-in for auricular acupuncture (no appointment needed) Thursday evenings 6.00 - 8.00. Other therapies also available by appointment. One-to-one counselling.

The Beaumont Trust is a charitable educational resource for medical, voluntary and lay people who require to increase their knowlededge on the subjects of transsexualism and transvestism and offers support to those affected by the issues they raise. the trusts two objectives are as follows ;- to relieve the stress caused by transssexualism and /or transvestism to those affected, their families and friends, and to assist professional advisers in the field of care of gender dysphoria. to educate the public about these conditions.

Caress offers support & services for people who are living with or have developed AIDS; our services are extended to their carers, family and friends via our support network.
 

Mental health problems can affect anyone: around one in four people will suffer from some form of mental health problem during their lifetime. the most common forms of mental health problems are anxiety and depression, but there are many others, including bipolar, schizophrenia, eating disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. suffering from a mental health problem - especially a severe problem - can have a devastating effect on the sufferer's life. they may lose their job, their family and their friends.

East London Out Project (ELOP) is a holistic lesbian and gay centre that offers a range of social, emotional and support services to LGBT communities, and their core services include counselling and young peoples' services. They can also offer training and consultancy for fellow professionals and those seeking to enhance their understanding of issues facing LGBT communities.

We are a group of gay men committed to principles of caring, trusting, personal growth, sharing, and creativity aimed at nurturing community as an alternative to the commercial scene. we are open to all men who identify as gay and we particularly encourage and support disabled, black, older and younger men to become involved in our events. we organise gay mens weeks and shorter events each year at venues across the country. we go to laurieston hall in south west scotland several times a year as well as youth hostels in the lake district and centres elsewhere.
