Why Bother?
Personalisation is the headline topic for adult social care. However, mainstream services may not be ready to deliver the new agenda to the LGB&T communities,
BUT are we in the LGB&T voluntary sector READY?
LGB&T Voluntary and Community Services need to be ready for Personalisation so that LGB&T people have real choice in how and by whom their health and social care needs are met.
We need support and services that best meet the needs of the LGB&T communities reflecting the multiple identities of LGB&T people including our disabled, black and minority ethnic communities.
Personalisation goes beyond Personal budgets and direct payments.
Personalisation means that people become more involved in how services and support are designed and delivered meaning they then receive support that is most suited to them. This can range from engaging with a community resource such as LGB&T organisations and groups, right through to provision of an intensive support package, of which organisations, groups or networks can form a part.
Places are FREE (but limited!) so COME ALONG and see how you fit in, what you can offer as a provider or as a service user, how you can become ready to deliver.
The day runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm, lunch and refreshements will be provided.
