Equal Marriage debate resumed in the Commons

The Marriage (same sex) bill’s remaining stages will be debated next week in the Hosue of Commons.
The bill is due to have its report stage and third reading on Monday and Tuesday and if it is approved on 21 May, it will then pass to the Lords for further scrutiny.

Allsorts trans children and youth work

LGBT Consortium Members - Allsorts are delighted to announce that their pilot trans children and youth project will be expanding in 2013 thanks to new funding from Comic Relief and Children in Need. They have been awarded a total of £130,000 over three years to fund a trans children and young people’s team of three workers. File 2505

Award winning film series launches in the UK

The Devotion Project is a series of award-winning short documentary File 2499films bringing together six lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ) couples to explore their experience of love, commitment and family.

New Gift Aid Rules Come Into Effect

File 2489From 22 April 2013, Members registered to receive Gift Aid can now sign up to make repayment claims electronically.

HMRC has said that the new service called Charities Online has been introduced in response to customer feedback. It will make repayment claims faster and easier by filing online. The current R68(i) print and post repayment form will be replaced by three options for making claims.

Clinical Reference Groups: Patient and Carer Member Recruitment Launched

To get the best local services people need a say. We need to be able to influence what services are available, how they are delivered and who delivers them. We also need to be able to challenge services that aren’t up to scratch.

Public Sector Equality Duty Review--Call for Evidence

Grant award means new training resources and events for Members!

File 2446Thanks to a grant from Awards For All, LGBT Consortium is delighted to be able to run new training and development events and to offer new tools and resources to our Members! 

We are kicking off with a series of Learning and Networking events, called Getting Our Message OUT, spread over the next year, working in partnership with our local and national partners across England.

PACE goes live

LGBT Consortium Members PACE has recently launched an exciting new online service to support lesbian, gay, bisexual and File 2449transgender people experiencing mental health problems.  
The new website and interactive Virtual Support Service has been developed by PACE, London’s leading charity promoting the mental health and wellbeing of the LGBT community to enable PACE to reach out to more people in distress.

Allsorts Celebrates LGBT Children, Young People & Families Day

File 2434'LGBT Children, Young People and Families Day' took place on Tuesday February 5th organised by Young People's Voice - a campaigns action group at Allsorts Youth Project.  It was the first major event of its kind to celebrate LGBT youth identity and community, with ‘Togetherness’ being the theme of the day.
