The founder of LGBT homelessness charity The Albert Kennedy Trust has been honoured with an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for her work within the LGBT Community.

AKT was set up in 1989 and it provides support for young LGBT 16-25 year olds who are made homeless or living in a hostile environment.

Cath Hall has made a real difference to the lives of thousands of LGBT young people over the past 26 years and was also a founder of Manchester Parents Group (part of FFLAG), providing support to the parents of LGBT youth and reuniting families. Cath was an activist during the days of the Campaign for Homosexual Equality and is the original Straight Ally.
