LGBT Consortium CEO receives OBE

Friday, June 10, 2016 - 10:00

The whole LGBT Consortium team is feeling very proud this week as its CEO, Paul Roberts, picked up his OBE from the Palace. The OBE was awarded in recognition for his services to the LGBT Community.

Paul started working in the LGBT Sector right out of university and hasn’t lost any of his passion for it! He joined LGBT Consortium in 2011 and since then the organisation has gone from strength to strength, placing its members at its core.

We caught up with Paul right out of the Palace; "It was overwhelming and humbling to receive my OBE yesterday from Prince Charles. We spoke briefly about equal marriage and the vast range of issues still affecting our communities and how our Membership across the UK are making positive change to lives of individual LGBT people. This Honour is not only for me, but for our team who work tirelessly for our communities each and every day. Never was this more important than now, given that we see key organisations floundering. We are a resilient sector and look forward to working with our Members to create a more sustainable LGBT sector."
