Local Healthwatch
Subject to Parliamentary approval, the new local champions for patients, service users and the public, your Local Healthwatch, should now be in place by April 2013. This later date aligns closer to the establishment of other new bodies such as the health and well being boards.
£3.2 million will be made available in 2012/13 for the start-up costs of these 75 Local Healthwatches in addition to the continued funding for Local Involvement Networks (LINks).
