Resignation of LGBT Consortium Chair
The LGBT Consortium today sadly announces the resignation of its Chair of Trustees, Dr Greg Ussher.
Dr Ussher has been Chair of the charity since 2013. Dr Ussher has steered the charity through some choppy waters over recent years, into a current period of stability.
Dr Ussher announced today that he is resigning as Chair with immediate effect. Dr Ussher said:
‘It is with regret that I today announce my resignation as Chair of the Board of the Consortium. With a number of other fellowships, trusteeships, director roles and other Chair responsibilities, as well as being CEO of METRO Charity, something had to give. I have enjoyed my 4 and ½ years leading the Board of the Consortium, and am so proud of all of the tremendous work that our members do with LGBT communities across the UK. I will of course continue to consult with LGBT organisations across the UK as we work collectively to address inequalities related to sexual orientation and gender identity, particularly in areas of health and social care.’
Consortium’s Board, CEO and staff unanimously thanked Greg for his outstanding voluntary service over the last 4 and ½ years. CEO Paul Roberts said “Greg has put a huge amount of effort in to the work of the Consortium. We all wish him well with his work in the future.”
Consortium will be announcing its new Chair in the next few days.
