Update from LGBT Consortium

Monday, July 7, 2014 - 10:45

What a busy and exciting month it has been here at Consortium!

We have just had our annual Board Away Day, we have seen some great funding results for our Members, we are recruiting for a consultant for some research in London (which we hope will be a pilot for other areas) and we met with the Equality Minister.

Oh and not forgetting the news that Civil Partnerships can finally be converted from December... and the conversion fees will be waived for a period of one year for couples who entered into a civil partnership before same-sex marriages were allowed.

This is the time of year when we take stock of where we are as an organisation in preparation for the AGM later this year and take the time to reflect on where the priorities continue to be. We are working flat out to ensure we provide the best support for you our Members and will be touching base with many of you over the coming months so a big summery thank you again for engaging with us.
Two quick heads up we want to give Members is about two consultations with upcoming deadlines. Firstly, the Cabinet Office is consulting on a new Sustainability Fund for the voluntary sector and it is important that we get as many LGBT voices responding to this as possible so please consider putting in a response. Also, the Big Lottery has its Your Voice, Our Vision consultation open and we encourage Members to give their thoughts through the dedicated webs page for this.
