Applications to host the next UK LGBT Health Summit have opened!

The Handover and Legacy group from the 2012 Summit have announced that any LGBT organisation from across the UK that would like to be considered as the Host for the 8th Health Summit have just over two weeks to get their applications in. This is a wonderful opportunity for organisation's not only to raise their own profile, but to Host what is seen as one of the most important dates in the calendar year for LGBT organisations engaged with the health system.

Applications to host the LGBT Health Summit 2014 will be assessed by a Handover and Legacy Panel.  This Panel is made up of representatives of national LGBT organisations, Public Health and the previous hosts. This year’s Panel will be:

  • Greg Ussher, Chair of LGBT Consortium and Acting CEO of The Metro Centre
  • James Taylor, Head of Policy at Stonewall
  • Paul Roberts, Chief Executive at LGBT Consortium
  • Helen Belcher, Trans Media Watch
  • Justin Varney, Consultant in Public Health Medicine at Public Health England and one of the original founders

Applications must be in by Friday 7th March 2014.

It is important to note that no financial incentives come with this opportunity and it is the responsibility of the chosen Host to find suitable financial backing for a successful Summit.

The application form to become the next Host is attached to the bottom of this article.

If you would like further information about being the Host then please contact Greg at Metro on greg@metrocentreonline.org or Paul at Consortium on paul.roberts@lgbtconsortium.org.uk.
