Macmillan LGBT and Cancer Programme Co-ordinator

LGBT Foundation is recruiting for a Macmillan LGBT and Cancer Programme Co-ordinator to join our Pride in Practice Team.

The Macmillan LGBT and Cancer Project is a partnership project between Macmillan and LGBT Foundation focusing on the needs and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* (LGBT) people affected by cancer in Greater Manchester.

  • Co-ordinate the lived experience group to co-produce the priorities of the programme, enabling LGBT people affected by cancer to steer the project
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strengthen relationships with and provide support to Macmillan services and staff across Greater Manchester
  • Develop creative solutions to enhance the provision of tailored information and support for LGBT people affected by cancer
  • Ensure visibility of LGBT people affected by cancer in Greater Manchester within services, campaigns and wider society

We particularly welcome applicants who are from BAME (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic) communities, trans communities and that are older (50+) as staff from these are currently underrepresented in our organisation.

* Trans is an umbrella and inclusive term used to describe people whose gender identity differs in some way from that which they were assigned at birth; including non-binary people, people who cross dress, and those who partially or incompletely identify with their sex assigned at birth.

We are open to flexible home working if you are using gender identity services and therefore have regular appointments.
