Albany Trust has been an important part of progressive social changes around LGBT+ rights and increasing acceptance of sexual and gender diversity in the UK over the last 60 years. Our work has helped to enable full participation of LGBT+ individuals in society and strengthened and enriched society as a whole.

We are now looking for a new Trustee to spearhead our work in schools with the introduction of a new Relationship and Sex Education curriculum in 2020.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with a background in education and/or faith-based communities, who also has an interest in the contribution that counsellors and psychotherapists can make to supporting schools in meeting their duty towards children and young people. Albany is a member of the LGBT Consortium and has recently set up an LGBT+ network for psychoanalytic psychotherapists, supported by leading counselling and psychotherapy organisations. We are also a member of the coalition against ‘conversion therapy’.

Your role would be supported by the other Trustees and you would be working with a team of honorary therapists. If you are interested and would like to find out more please contact us via: or telephone us on: 020 8767 1827
