Project Worker

Purpose of the post

The Project worker’s main function is to manage the day-to-day activities of a project or part of a service.

The worker will also assist the chairperson to develop and support a range of flexible, creative and responsive community- based initiatives for gay/bisexual and questioning men aged 18 years and over.

Reports to the chairperson Michael Bell:

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage project delivery : respond to referrals, ensure the provision of good quality service to the user.
  2. Participate in internal and external group/reviews: representing the organisation at meeting as appropriate.
  3. Represent the organisation e.g. at meetings , events and other appropriate fora.
  4. Provide information: raise public awareness about the service and the group. Facilitate access to other agencies/resources.
  5. Work with the chairperson in line with the policies and procedures of Gasbags North East and local organisations to develop and maintain a range of local knowledge / support tailored to the needs of the group.
  6. Policies and Procedures are available upon request.

Under direction of the chairperson

  1. Development of the project : identify ongoing issues within the group retaining a high standard of confidentiality at all times in line with data protection. Play a key role in developing partnerships working with other organisations and professionals.
  2. Any other reasonable request within the capability of the jobholder.
