A free Learning and Networking event for LGBT Groups, Projects and Organisations to explore how we can get our message OUT there.

The day is in three parts with two workshops and a networking lunch.

Workshop 1, delivered by LGBT Consortium, focuses on using Social Media in a strategic way to promote work, communicate with service users, attract funders and campaign.

The Consortium in conjunction with RJW Solicitors is running an evening seminar on how to challenge decisions made by statutory funders. The seminar will focus on when and how judicial review can be used to challenge decision making processes with the aim of the decision reached being overturned.

Speak Out Youth Event

The Consortium is holding a free one day event for LGBT youth groups across the West Midlands at the Custard Factory in Birmingham.

The aim of the event is to bring together young LGBT groups so that they can network, listen to speakers and take part in work shops which will better prepare them and expand their knowledge of the community they have introduced themselves in to.

The day will begin at 10.30am, will go on until 4pm and is free to attend.

The Consortium provided London youth groups with grants to engage LGBT young people in the political and social workings of London as part of the Paul Patrick Awards 2010.

AGM and Annual Conference - Ready for Change

The Consortium has been working in partnership with the Federation for Community Development Learning to develop an accredited course “Representing Your Communities”. LGB communities are increasingly receiving opportunities to contribute to partnerships and those who take on this role need to become skilled at working in partnerships, representing their community, and developing their knowledge of the issues involved in such engagement. It is hoped that this course will be delivered in partnership with the Consortium and with any existing local, sub-regional or regional networks.
