Tackling Inequality and Discrimination Using the Law

Exploring how LGBT groups challenge inequality and tackle discrimination.

As the umbrella body for the LGBT Sector we are keen to find out more about how LGBT groups use the law in their work to challenge inequality and tackle discrimination. Just as importantly we want to find out more about the LGBT Groups that don’t use the law and the reasons behind what makes some of us run for the hills at the mention of the word ‘law’ or ‘advice’.

The data that we collect through a survey, a series of roundtable discussions and interviews will help us to identify what the needs of a range of LGBT groups might be, so that we might support them better. We also hope to be using the data as evidence which will aid us to build a case to encourage funders to invest in our sector

If right about now you’re asking...

“We run a social group every other Wednesday, how is this relevant to us?”

...then you are the very group we need to hear from.

We need information from a range of LGBT groups, not just those who are resourced by staff or those who are confident in using knowledge around the laws that protect LGBT people. Your involvement in this project is crucial to its success, whether all the questions seem relevant or not. This survey is for All LGBT Groups in the UK, regardless of size, the type of work they carry out, how much their income is or whether or not they have staff or volunteers.
